Revival

Hello guys,

I would like to welcome you all to my second blog, Kretek Enigma. Probably you remember me from my Champagne Vision days, which is my first blog, it's still there if you want to have a look.

So first I want to tell you how I got the name ''Kretek Enigma". Why I came up with that name is because on the process of brain-storming, when I was thinking about the theme, I wanted this blog to have a theme where it focuses on present Jakarta-teenage culture and lifestyle. After many hours thinking, Kretek Enigma pops out. 

Firstly, Kretek I think is one of the things that defines Indonesia, a class of its own cigarette which gives you true exotic flavor where you won't find it anywhere else, and we can't deny the fact that it's one of the things that defines Jakarta's teenage lifestyle, where A-Mild kretek's are daily consumption for those either beginning their tobacco adventure or those who can't stand a day without burning those soul sucking bastards. Going deeper than that, the idea of kretek also represents working-class, limbo of society, being in the middle of the poor and the rich, trying to survive not to hit rock bottom and at the same time trying to make it up there. 

As for Enigma, well it's a brand of a local beer that I just found recently on a holiday to Bandung, which I like very, very much. It's made for local tongue, so the flavor is just right for Indonesian's, and it beats every other beer (where before I found Enigma, Erdinger was no. 1 on my list). It's also cheap. If I'm not mistaken it was 35k for a pint. Not a bottle, A pint.

So that's the history of the name done, now I would like to give you a glimpse of what you can expect from my blog. 

As already written on the header, I will be doing postings about mainly music, people, lifestyle and culture, especially topics coming from the streets of Jakarta. But the main attraction coming from my blog is that I will be doing 'picture journal' postings.

The idea for doing this came out as I started doing this thing on instagram. Instead of posting pictures with cliche or cheesy or what have you captions, I usually write the story behind the picture, so that I can share my opinion and views etc to people and for them to get better understanding of it. After getting good feedback's from some of my followers and it sort of became a habit, I decided to take that picture journal to a more 'serious' format, to show it to a more wide range of audience. The timing of these postings are usually post-events. You can have a look at how I'm already doing it on my instagram, which is @Narendra_H.

Other than doing picture journal, I will also be doing writings which is usually about my opinions on things that are happening, reviews, and other writings that I can think of. I would describe my writing as the views from a working-class teen, so it's more appreciative about the little things but it doesn't mean one can be hard and critical. But I'll let you be the judge.

Well that's all that I can say. I don't wanna give you promises on what postings will be posted, I also won't guarantee routine posting, but I'll try to give you guys my best. I don't want to just 'do' postings, I want to do it good. I hope you guys will love my blog, and hopefully there are no more commitment issue(s).
